We sat down with Hallett Cove Business Association’s Business of the year 2018 (over a curry of course) to see what this means to them. The family run business consists of Husband and Wife team and their three children.
Q. Why did you choose Hallett Cove for your business location?
A. When we moved to Hallett Cove, we noticed there wasn’t a huge deal of variety in cuisines around the area and decided it’d be great to bring Indian Cuisine.
Q. Were you surprised to win such a prestigious award.
A. We definitely were. We work hard to give our customers the best experience possible, and getting rewarded for this hard work brings us great joy and only increases our passion to make great food for all our customers.
Q. How has winning this award affected your business
A. Winning this award has definitely attracted a greater client base from further down south and towards Glenelg area. Everyday we meet new people who have heard about us from a friend and it always brings us pleasure to meet new customers who then become regulars.
Q. You also picked up another award on the night. What was it
A. So we won two awards. The first, Hospitality of the Year award. Secondly, Business of the Year award.
Q. What is each of your favourite curries?
A. Nassir – Lamb Shanks/ Vindaloo
Asra – Kadai (with any meat)
Aman – Bukhara Chicken
Sumbul – Tikka Masala
Rayyan – Butter Chicken
Q. What is your most popular dish
A. Butter Chicken, its an all time favourite.
Q. When you aren’t working hard in the restaurant what do you like to do together as a family?
A. Monday is the only day we get to spend family time. We have a rule that we sit down and have one meal together on Monday. When we get time off during Christmas we close the restaurant and go out travelling either overseas or around Australia.
