Welcome to Hallett Cove East Primary School!

Hallett Cove East Primary School is located in Hallett Cove, a coastal suburb which is approximately 25 kilometres south of Adelaide. The school opened in 1991.

The school is unique in that it comprises 9 suburban style houses, with up to two classes or specialist programs operating in each. A wet area, inside toilets and withdrawal spaces are also available for classes to access in each house.

HCEPS promotes the use of Information Communication Technologies with a well equipped IT Room, interactive whiteboards or screens in all classrooms, Resource Centre, Science and Japanese Rooms and class access to trolleys of laptops. The Resource Centre has a trolley of ipads for student access. Our Coordinator in e-Learning leads learning in this crucial area with high quality support also provided by our ICT SSO and IT contractor.

Specialist offerings include Japanese, PE for all students.  The Arts is also offered to R-3 students and Science is also offered to 4-7 students.

A number of other special programs including SAPSASA, Swimming and Aquatics are also offered to students during the year. The school has a strong out hours sport program particularly in Soccer and Cricket.

Current school priorities include Literacy, Numeracy and Wellbeing.  A comprehensive review of our Site Learning Plan occurs each year. (Please refer to the Site Plan in the website for more information about our priorities).

Student leadership is also a priority of the school with student voice being provided through a range of strategies.  Students have many other opportunities to involve themselves in a variety of leadership initiatives. These include Year 7 Leadership programs, Student Voice in Learning (Partnership) project and school Buddies programs.

Parents and families are an important part of our school. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved and we actively encourage and appreciate volunteer support.

Physical resources are of a high quality and include a well equipped Pavilion, quality playgrounds and large open playing areas and gardens. Student participation in a range of sports is actively promoted and many students participate in some form of organised out of school hours sporting competitions. A relatively new section comprising 2 covered sports courts (COLAs), a 4 class teaching block and playground have further contributed to an aesthetically beautiful and engaging environment.

The school has a healthy canteen that follows the Right Bite guidelines and a well used and popular Out of School Hours Care program. We are also fortunate to have the services of a Pastoral Care Worker to provide support to our students in a range of ways.
